Ernesto 'Che' Guevara this is a semi-autobiography about 'El Che', written by Richard M. Ruiz who had real life encounters with him
What Is It About Che? |
The first time I lay my eyes on a 'Che Guevara' merchandise was when I was watching a 'Rage Against The Machine' concert on TV. I was curious who the person was and why did the RATM patronize him [RATM is one of the bands i respect]. So I did some reading and net-surfing. As I was browsing articles about the so-called insurrectionist, I was somehow pinched about the things that was happenning in some countries. If I may say, I am a well-awared person. I see to it that I am updated regarding economics, politics and social information. It is everybody's duty to his country. If I would be given a chance, I would like to have some changes and start it in our country. I was amazed on the ideals and what 'El Che' really wanted to do for other countries. He was an honorable man to me. As written on articles about him, many considered him as a communist. But like in the era he lived in, the 60's, those who were in the way of the American government were considered communists. Truly, some of his ideology are like the Communist dogma. But isn't Communism based on the good welfare of the people. I am not saying I am into Communism or something, all I'm trying to point out is that a government who does not support the welfare of his people are worth the insurrection. The other thing I like about 'El Che' is the way he seemed to represent the youth in the 60's, young yet so full of ideals and courage. Just hope that the youth of today would convert their energy to good things. And remember the sacrifices of many to have the democracy our country is experiencing now. In this time frame where music is a strong media in representing ideas and dogmas, just hope that the youth are making their intelligent choices.
